Today in Sa-land: The first in a series---Weirdos in the Workplace.

As you know, the insurance company has proven itself to be quite fertile ground for many of the entries here. That would be the case for this entry, as well.

There is a woman at my job who wears the most meticulously matched outfits I have ever seen in my life. Every item of clothing is matched exactly. This includes socks. She also wears these bizarre hair ornaments. They are a bow attached to a barrette with a little net bag hanging off of them. The barrette-thingy holds the hair in a ponytail that is then placed inside the net bag. The hair thingies also match the outfits. Im fairly certain that there cannot be so many variations on this theme available in the retail market (or at least I hope there arent) so she must manufacture these concoctions herself.

In addition to matching every conceivable article of clothing each day, she also matches the colors on her computer monitor to her outfit each day. As you can imagine, this makes for some very interesting displays, occasionally provoking eye pain in all around her.

She is heavily made-up in the tradition of Tammy Faye or perhaps Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. An inordinate proportion of her salary is, no doubt, spent on Mary Kay. I have never seen her without make-up or with mismatched clothing even on Saturdays when most of us drag in there just barely out of pajamas.

I hope youve enjoyed the inaugural installment of Weirdos in the Workplace. Stay tuned for our next episode appearing sometime in the not too distant future.
