April 23, 2002-5:32 a.m. The trucker�s daughter has gotten another dog. In the past two years, she has owned no fewer than five pets. The woman�s picture should be on the wall at the SPCA.
The first pet that I was aware of was a rare purebred dog that she drove over 200 miles to purchase. The puppies normally sell for $1200 but this dog was getting older, he was six months old, I think, so the owner was willing to let him go for $600. She may have had the dog for two months. After an unsuccessful attempt to sell the dog to anyone she could think of, she gave it to a neighbor and it was run over by a car a week later. I based my opinion that she is unfit to own pets on that one experience but there have been subsequent acquisitions followed by almost immediate disposals and by now, almost everyone is of the same opinion. You really have to feel for her five-year-old daughter. She gets attached to a pet and then suddenly, it�s gone. It certainly wouldn�t be much of a leap in kindergarten logic for her to wonder if her own days with Mom are numbered. **Disclaimer: All characters in this diary are fictional.
