I received this amusing anecdote in email the other day:

Two men were fishing in a pond one day and all of a sudden a funeral recession went by. One of the men stood up, took off his hat and stood there until it went completely by. The other guy said "You know that was really descent of you to do that". So the other guy said "Yeh, its the least I could do, after all was married to the woman for 30 years".

What I found most amusing was not the sentiment but the glaring grammatical errors.

What exactly do you reckon a funeral recession is?

Receding funeral?

Funeral withdrawal?

Has anyone ever seen a sudden funeral procession?

I submit that they are anything but sudden; you can usually see them coming for miles.

If that werent perplexing enough, how does one behave descently?

Is it some sort of ancient ancestral ritual?

Secret handshake?

You have to know that whoever originally wrote this thought they were home free once they passed the spell check.
