This afternoon my friend Larry called me asking if I knew where he could exchange some money he had gotten in Mexico for US dollars.

The bank.

He said he had 1000 pesos that he wanted to exchange and he was going to call his bank. A friend of his had told him that 1000 pesos is about worth $100 US.

Evidently the bank told him that they did indeed do currency exchanges because he went to the bank expecting to leave with $100.

When he got to the tellers window, she informed him that he had 1000 lira instead of 1000 pesos. Instead of leaving the bank with $100, he left with 46!
