February 24, 2004-7:25 p.m. Y�all. I cannot believe that Bush wants to amend the constitution of the United States to ban gay marriages. He�s entitled to his opinion and if he wants to say he�s against them, that�s his constitutional right�but to amend the constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and woman is just absurd. Let�s look at some of the reasons the constitution has been amended in the past, shall we? To provide freedom of religion. To protect us from unreasonable searches and seizures. To provide us with the right to a speedy trial. To abolish slavery. To provide women the right to vote. I�m just not putting providing a definition of marriage in the same league.
