December 08, 2003-6:00 a.m. When I wrote the previous entry, I was really struck by what a heinous example this was of a patriarchal society with very little regard for women. I just wanted to try and articulate what it was I was feeling and what a sad statement I found it to be on the regard society holds for women even now in the 21st century. How arrogant is it to say, �We have treated this man, he has served 23 years in prison and he is no longer any threat to society.� And to be so sure that he was released without supervision. To be willing to sacrifice women in an effort to show that they were right about a man whose own sister begged for him to be monitored. They monitor non-violent drug offenders who have never stabbed anyone more closely than that. Some people say sexual predators should be castrated. If they don�t have a penis they will use something else. Rape is about violence and subjugation, not sex. **Disclaimer: All characters in this diary are fictional.
